Abstract Submissions

We invite you to submit abstracts for RACI PhysChem 2016 – both oral and poster presentations. This meeting will cover a broad range of research themes encompassing experimental, computational and theoretical methods in physical chemistry. Contributions from early-career researchers and students are particularly encouraged.

The conference format will include plenary sessions, keynote speakers as well as contributed presentations.We very much hope that you accept this invitation and look forward to seeing you in Christchurch in February 2016.

Abstract submissions close 27 November 2015 and speakers will be notified of the result on 9 December 2015


Abstract and Poster Preparation

All abstract submissions will be subject to review.

Participants will be able to submit their interest under two categories:

Oral Presentation – this will require delegates to submit an abstract and, if selected, prepare an oral presentation. Authors selected to present their papers via oral presentation will need to prepare an electronic slide show based on their paper. Oral presentations will be allocated 20 minutes, including questions and answers to be held at the conclusion of each presentation or session (time permitting) in the conference program. Selected keynote presentation of 30 minutes will also feature.

Poster Presentation – this will require delegates to submit an abstract, and if selected, a poster is to be prepared and displayed for the duration of the conference.  Poster size is: A0 size 1189mm high x 841mm wide. These will be mounted on a display panel. At least one author must be present for the poster session.


How to submit your abstract

Abstracts must be submitted electronically via the Abstract Submission Zone.  All abstracts must conform to the requirements outlined below.

All submitted abstracts are now subject to review based on the following criteria:

  1. The topic is relevant and important to the chosen theme or sub theme
  2. Subject matter is original or innovative
  3. Paper must add to the knowledge-base of the discipline

Abstracts must be submitted electronically via the above Abstract Zone.All abstracts must conform to the requirements outlined below:

  • Abstracts should be limited to 400 words
  • Authors must submit a separate abstract for each presentation put forward for consideration
  • Abstracts must be submitted in the template as provided via the conference website
  • Abstracts should be received by 5pm, 27 November 2015.
  • Abstracts sent by fax or email will not be accepted
  • Presenters will be requested to provide permission to reproduce their abstract in conference proceedings and their presentation on the conference website after the conference.
  • Presenters will be required to register and pay to attend the conference (day registration minimum).


To submit your abstract you must create a new speaker account and enter all required details.  Please navigate through the Abstract Submission Zone to select your theme, AV requirements, enter your biography, and upload your abstract using the template provided.

If changes are required to your abstract or contact details you are able to login to your account at a later date and make alterations. Your login and password details will be emailed to you once you have created a new account.


Speaker Registration

All authors who have their abstracts accepted for either an oral or poster presentation must register via the online or hard copy registration forms.
